Vox AmPlug AC30: $40 Boss DD-20 Digital Delay: $219 Psionic Audio's Triad: $295 The Edge's Tone: Priceless! ISHFWILF: http://download.yousendit.com/B21207F5640AC018 Only one delay here at 446 ms (101 BPM). 60% rate and 50% depth on DD-20. Tad more delay volume on this one compared to Streets below. Be easy on me with regards to the timing mistake - I've only been playing this song a few days. Below is Streets with Amplug, but has a lot of mistakes (I rushed it and did not add distortion in second verse). I was just working on getting the tone. I want to add just a bit more treble. The general tone is there, especially the muted strumming. I am still working to catch up to Pat (I have only been at this for a few months). I believe over-driving the Amplug or amp model on the Axe with the Triad is the key if you don't have a great real amp like Mick. You have to be on the "Edge" of breaking the amp sharply and also make sure the mid range tones come out. To much treble or bass drowns out the tone. STREETS: http://download.yousendit.com/E59524A574BCB826 Only one delay here at 354ms (107 BPM). 60% rate and 50% depth on DD-20. For both above, Amplug was set at 7.5 volume, 5 tone and 4.5 gain. Guitar volume at between 6 and 8 depending on the song and part of the song. Guitar tone knob at about 5. I find the FS-1 / Fralin mix to be very high treble, so my volume knob as to be in the 4-6 range. Signal path is 2003 Custom Shop 60s Strat NOS with Fralin Vintage Hots and FS-1 bridge --> Axess buffer --> Triad preamp (level at about 1 oclock) --> DD-20 --> Amplug --> MBox2 / Pro Tools. No compression or anything else added. Many thanks to Mick, Pat, Lyle and others for answering all my questions. Michael
